A Partial Denture Can Temporarily Replace Multiple Knocked Out Teeth

Posted .

Oral trauma can sometimes impart so much force that it knocks out or severely traumatized multiple teeth. At a time like this, you will need to seek emergency treatment to address the damaged teeth and soft tissues.

In some of these cases, multiple teeth might be so badly compromised that they simply cannot be saved and will require an extraction. After your injuries have healed our dentists, Dr. Kevin Solis and Dr. Trevor Craig might want to fit you for a partial denture. This special type of removable dental appliance will be created in a state-of-the-art dental lab to mimic the basic appearance and function of your lost teeth.

Depending on its size and location, the partial denture might also include hardware designed to help secure the unit to the adjacent teeth. You might want to also apply a little denture adhesive when putting your appliance in each morning. This helps to secure the partial denture to the underlying gums while also blocking out stray food particles. You will need to clean your denture every day, brush your teeth and gums, and see your dentist for your regular cleanings and exams.

If you live in the Moline, Illinois, area and you have lost multiple teeth to a dental trauma, you should call 309-764-4944 to schedule a consultation at Solis Dental Group.
